I’m flying in a supercollider, want it to take me, take me higher…

‘Supercollider’ is The Revival’s first single of 2013. It’s the perfect indie song to get you on your feet. I can’t even sit still while listening to it!

Who are The Revival? They are a rock’n’roll band, whose beginnings stem from 2009. The group consists of Arfyn Ryhs Ruhonah on vocals and guitar, Ryan Kent on bass, and Phil Beastall on drums. Representing Swansea; Cheltenham; and Chelmsford, their sound is unique, giving a nod to a range of influences, most notable of which (to me) are The Stone Roses and The Enemy.

With guitars on a mission to get somewhere as quickly as possible, the riffs are like lightning. This song is on a railway and it’s dangerous and exciting, but on the straight and steady path. The vocals are sharp, with a stern defiance that sounds like The Roses, and the rock’n’roll grace and euphony of The Enemy; Phil’s drumming for dear life, and the bass is reverberating with the utmost power and purpose. The tune is packed with undying momentum, and it’s ready to get big…

The lyrics exemplify that feeling as well – of being kinetic and larger than life and it definitely sets the bar high for indie this year. If any band were to make a statement, this would be the way to do it.
Driving you to reach for the stars, this guitar-packed tune is absolutely contagious in all its fury. All three know what they’re doing and more importantly, love what their doing, and that translates into brilliance.

I know I’m already addicted to The Revival’s sound, and their 2013 is looking quite good…
